Beautiful Women

Lori is one of my friends that I met through the Women's Commission. She wanted some photos of herself with her daughters. Lori and her girls are so very talented! Lori works at Winchester Hall for Jan Gardner. Leslie works in Chicago for the Boston Consulting Group and has traveled quite extensively. Amii was just accepted into medical school and is also the ham of the family. And Sarah is a hard-working junior at Notre Dame. While they were clowning around playing musical chair I was able to capture some wonderful shots.....some serious and some fun-loving! As you can see they are ALL BEAUTIFUL.

Misti Morningstar Wins 2 International Awards for Photography

Frederick, MD (November 17, 2008) – Misti Morningstar, President of Morningstar Design Inc. and Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) Photographer, wins 2 Silver Communicator Awards for Killer Joe and Three Penny Opera theatre poster photographs.

The winners of The 2008 Communicator Awards have been announced by the International Academy of the Visual Arts. With over 9,000 entries from across the US and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.

“I have been photographing at the Maryland Ensemble Theatre for a few years now and I really enjoy capturing the story of each play in pictures. Their stage sets are phenomenal and the talent of the MET actors is above par. We’re very fortunate to have them in our community and I was proud to win these awards for them,” stated Ms. Morningstar.

“It has been an excellent partnership for MET! Misti has a great eye for drama and she has a great feel for what photos will play in our press relations. In theatre, photography is essential in trying to capture the feel of a production and Misti has done an excellent job in shooting the ‘right moment’ to excite our audiences,” said Tad Janes, Producing Artistic Director of Maryland Ensemble Theatre.

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), a 200+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current IAVA membership represents a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including: Condè Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, Yahoo!, and many others.

“The incredible quality and diversity of this year’s entries was an inspiration to the academy and all of our judges. The work reflected the rapidly changing media landscape as the growing amounts of interactive work submitted pushed the limits of the medium, and the quality of the traditional work submitted was again remarkable., noted Linda Day, director of the IAVA. She added, “On behalf of the entire Academy, we are honored to have judged the 14th Annual Communicator Awards and we are proud to honor the best in creativity and execution from the foremost communications professionals in the business”.
